These paintings are from the second exhibition in the Autumn Term 2023. In this series of three images I have kept everything the same apart from the colour to explore whether changing just the colour creates a strong connection with different emotions. The colour red to me represents love and anger, in contrast to the colour black which symbolise mystery and death. The colour blue to me creates feelings of calmness and tranquillity in the viewer. I think that bolder shades of a colour create stronger emotions in comparison to paler shades of that colour. After experimenting with different compositional layouts, I chose to exhibit them in a diagonal line as it allowed the viewer to view all three canvases close up at the same time.

These photos show further experimentation using photoshop to explore how changing the colour of the photo changes the mood of the photo and the feelings and emotions experienced by the viewer. By having one prominent colour in the image it allows the viewer to consider what colours evoke different emotions. Moreover, the decision to include different shades of one colour creates a conversation about the possible relationship between the strength of the emotion and the boldness of the colour.
