Production Tests.

Experimentation with different materials, mediums and processes, e.g., using acetate, acrylic, pen, photography, thread and string.

Acrylic on acetate.

Exploring transparency and how warm, cool, and neutral colours psychologically affect our emotions by layering the pieces of acetate in image 1 and 2 together to create further emotional combinations.

Exploring buildings through different perspectives.

Exploring the colour psychology of buildings through different perspectives by replacing the view out of the window and plane with photos of my recent artwork.

Thread on paper experimentation.

Experimenting with thread on paper in preparation for doing a work with thread on material. I did the buildings in the colour that links to them. Eiffel Tower (Paris) is linked with love (red). Buckingham Palace (London) is linked with royalty (purple). Big Ben (London) is linked with power (black). Royal Albert Hall (London) is linked with creativity (yellow). The Shard (London) is linked with wealth (purple).

‘Bodleian Library’ 2024.

‘Bodleian Library’ 2024 is a quick one hour experimentation piece, using string, watercolour and acrylic paint, whilst leaving some bits blank. The Bodleian Library links to mental activity and creativity (both yellow). Through this experimentation I learnt that fabric was a more appropriate material to apply thread to, as experimentation found paper can rip and thread can only be glued to mount board.
